Architecture of many periods are represented in Baku- medieval architecture, modern architecture of the late XIX-early XX centuries, period of grand experiments of constructivism of the 1920-1930s, «Stalin empire» period of the 1940s-1950s, «Khrushchev» period of depersonalized architecture of the 1960s, «architecture of the advanced socialism» of the 1970s-1980s, and the modern architecture of the XXI century.
Baku is also among the few world centers of the constructivist architecture. Being one of the largest industrial and financial centers of the Eurasia in the early XX century, the city “sucked” many of the prominent architects of this period towards itself, who have left magnificent architectural monuments, which, justly, give us great pride.
